Here I will create pages about my famous painter Albrecht Dürer. In the meantime a few paintings and a first short biography. This page will be continued!

Albrecht Dürer was born on 21th May 1471 in Nuremberg as a son of a goldsmith. He was trained to be a painter and graphic artist in the studio of Michael Wolgemut (see one of the paintings above). At the end of his training he moved to the Oberrhein to meet the very famous painter Martin Schongauer, who unfortunately died bevor Dürer could have meet him.

1494 Dürer traveled to Italy, where he got new impulses for his works and therefore influenced German art. After his return 1495 he settled with an own studio in Nuremberg and married Agnes and. Unfortunatelly they had no children.

In the following years Dürer got very much famous, and he got lot of orders from emperor Maximilian I. On 6th April 1528 he died in his hometown Nuremberg and his grave can be found in the "Westfriedhof".

Dürers works are famous for his precision of details and fineness of his paintings. He was an example for following art generations in Germany but also in France and Italy.
